But that apparently wasn't the case this time around. Nodding his head when she announced she was done, Quizzit stepped forward twirling his finger in intriguing intricate figures over the lock. With a satisfied grunt, he hobbled back to the cart taking up his place up front. He'd been about to pull the lever when her question sunk in.
Turning his waist so he could peer at her, he gave what was probably a gleeful smile. "Yes, there's always those with....slow reflexes. Who....don't quite get out in time." Maybe he said that just a bit too ominously, but he was goblin for heavens sake. A little ominous-ness was allowed.
Not waiting for a reply, Quizzit pulled up the lever. With a loud grinding sound the wheels reversed themsevles, the wider wheels now towards the front. That was all the warning, because almost immediately after the cart took off again as usual, one speed and one speed only, as it raced up the winding, dipping track until they were back at the corridor to the depths. "Woah..." she had listened to the goblins answer and was about to reply when the cart had shot off. Gripping to the side of the cart with one hand, and her bag with the other, she felt the stomache churn and the wind in her face. 'Almost there, almost there...' she kept telling herself.
Finally they were back at the corridor and Emily almost jumped out of the cart. Oh sweet ground! At least she'd had time to mull over the goblins answer. He had seemed awfully happy about the idea. That was kindda scary...
She put her bag on her back then decided it was to heavy and carried it between her two hands. "I don't know how you can ride those everyday..." She felt sick from just riding on them once! Goblins must just be tuffer than wizards. |
