OMG! I haven't updated since February! Thanks for all of ya'll's replies! Here's the next part!
I pulled back and looked over his face. He smiled, then averted his eyes back towards the fire. I was about to say something else, but a furious banging on the doors split us apart. I cursed quietly under my breath as Remus stood to open the door.
“What Prongs?” he said rather crossly.
Emily, Lily, and James stood in the doorway. James held the Marauder’s Map and Emily held a letter. She pushed passed both the boys and came straight over to me.
“Seneca…” She handed me the letter. I flipped it over, and noticed that the seal was already broken.
I cocked an eyebrow at her, but her sorrowful expression cut me short.
Quickly, I opened the letter. Sometime during that time, Remus had made his way over to my shoulder. Lily and James had followed and took their places on either side of Emily. I skimmed over it a couple of times, taking in all the information.
Seneca,
I’m sorry to say that your mother has passed away earlier this day at 3:56 p.m. Please come by St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries for further information.
My hand went up to my mouth, and every tear and emotion from the past few months sprang out of me. I felt Remus’s hands on my shoulders to keep me from falling and Emily had taken the letter from my hand. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion. Lily hugged me, as did Emily, James, and Remus. I don’t know when it happened, but the next thing I knew I was back in the common room, sitting on the lumpy couch and curled next to Remus’s side. He was stroking over my red hair while I cried silently into his shoulder. Lily, Emily, James, Sirius, and Peter all sat motionless near me, none of them saying anything.
It was getting late, and almost all of the other student’s were in their dormitories. Without a word to me, Lily and James got up, followed by the other three. Emily’s hand lightly rested on my shoulder, but I didn’t respond.
“Do you want to go to bed?” Remus asked me.
Into his robes, I shook my head.
“You should get some sleep.” he continued.
“No.” I whispered.
For the second time that year, I fell asleep on the couch, leaning against Remus.
