There was an awkward sort of silence, which K-Lee broke by pulling out a few sweets from her pocket. "Chocolate frog?" She asked nervously, holding one out.
Ad bit her lip.
"It won't heal. According to the Healers, it'll stay this way the rest of my life." She looked down, fighting back tears.
Ad looked up again when she was offered chocolate.
"Thanks. I haven't had chocolate all year. I thought I was gonna pop. I about stole some from Justin last week, but he had to be mean and eat it in front of me." Ad gave a scowly face. She giggled, stretching her long arms up over head as she swallowed.
"I hate it that I'm twelve and look sixteen. When I was two I looked six, and so on." She rolled her dark eyes.
