It had been harder than he had thought, stepping out of Hogwarts for the last time. There was a whisper that told him this was it, this was the end of his journey here and that he would likely never see the school or many of its inhabitants again. And that had him in a silenced shock all the way to the platform.

Even as he moved through the train with Arya, hand in hers, bag on his shoulders, he was silent. His eyes ghosted blankly across all the faces around him, surrounded by others but somehow feeling rather alone. Especially without Merlin trailing behind him. Every time he glanced over his shoulder, he expected to see the black cat tight at his heels, weaving through obtrusive legs. But there was nothing there; just feet and shoes and he had to remind himself of his choice, had to force himself to accept it.

When they finally reached the compartment Arya wished, Sabel wasted no time in closing the door behind them. Then, he went to work putting their things out of the way. He didn't really want to sit still, and had the feeling he might end up pacing up and down the corridor of the car. Was this how it was supposed to feel at the end?
