Kurumi didn’t understand why Treyen was looking so perplexed when she handed him the box that contained the cupcake with giant chocolate wings. He had asked her to make cupcakes once before because he preferred them over cookies. What was that thing called again? She remember that it wasn’t Waffle, but Quaffle thanks to Selina’s tutoring…but what had that golden ball been called? Quiche? Quiches were yellow, so she supposed it was possible, although, she had never seen one with wings.
Her cheeks flushed a bit more as that sparkly smile of his appeared on his face and probably could have blinded the entire Hufflepuff table if not all of the Great Hall. She would need to bring an unending supply of sunglasses with her next term – especially if she was going to continue to be his Arithmancy partner.
Before she could even utter the ‘you’re’ part of ‘you’re welcome,’ Treyen embraced her in a hug that literally took her breath away. Wow, he sure had a strong grip. She then heard another boy speak, the one who had been constantly raising an eyebrow at her in Herbology, and her cheeks flushed even more. Was her hair turning colors too? She sure hoped that it wasn't.
“
H-H-Hello,” she stammered trying to catch her breath as Treyen released her from his bear hug. “
Con-Congratulations on your graduation,” she said bowing. Where had she put that box of fortune cookies on the Hufflepuff table? Oh! There they were!
She grabbed the box and held it out for Cedric.
“
I know it is not much, but please accept one of these as a humble way for me to honor you,” she said nervously. Had that made ANY sense? She wasn’t even sure it had. Talking to older students always made her nervous…and made her brain start translating Japanese into English a little too literal.
"
Hello Michael," Kurumi said bowing her head a bit. She looked over at the Gryffindor table and supposed that she could afford to spare a few more moments away from it. "Thank you."
She took a seat next to Michael. "
How did you fair with finals?"
