Wow...Gilderoy sounded pretty amazing. "Was he like an adventure seeker of some sort, then? Like, did he purposefully go after Dark Creatures?" That was wicked, brilliant, and...dim at the same time. Like walking into the Forbidden Forest WITHOUT an adult. Or ghost.

....Honestly, Ellie was really going to try and not pry. "Why's that?" If only her will power was stronger. Heh.
Oh, man. He shouldn't have asked about Screech.

It's not that he didn't enjoy talking about Gilderoy, but it was a very easy thing to do when the other person knew what he was actually talking about, or WHO he was talking about.

What worried him the most was that Treyen still thought the man had been an awesome writer and he dealt with fame pretty well...and, of course, who could forget the fact that he'd been a brilliant Obliviator? Yes, but that worried him because between all the Lockharts he was the one that related to the man to some extent, and the only one that still felt greatly about him. It was quite possible that Ellie wouldn't feel that way if he told her the truth about Gilderoy.

Or...wait...he could.

The parts that mattered, anyway.

He smiled, weakly, "I didn't personally know him as the man he portrayed in his books, he had an accident and lost his memory, so, I only knew him as Gilderoy, the man that had written all of those adventures," he wasn't lying, he was actually telling the truth, and this was a very difficult thing for him to be talking about it so freely, "I like to think he was, though. An adventure seeker. I'm not sure if he did everything that he'd written....," now, that was stretching the truth a little, "...but at least I know that he was interested in all of it." That COULD be true, otherwise Gilderoy wouldn't have written the stories.

There was a wide smile on his face, but he failed to answer. Instead, he looked at her, rather fondly, and said, "Can't we just keep it as 'it changed as I got older'?" wasn't that enough for Ellie?
