Post SS Exclusive video: Nick Moran, Gary Oldman & Tom Felton talk Deathly Hallows II

Last night I attended the 2011 Jameson Empire awards which were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, England. On the red carpet I spoke to Nick Moran (Scabior) about his added battle scene with Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II; Gary Oldman about his scene as a ghost for The Forest Again with David Thewlis, Daniel Radcliffe, Adrian Rawlins, and Geraldine Somerville in the second installment of the final film of the franchise, and Tom Felton about the epilogue re-shoot that never happened and the press launch that is to take place in New York City in April (which Tom will not be attending) for the DVD of Part I.

I also spoke to Tom later that night in the press room following the win for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I in the Best Sci Fi/Fantasy category; he recorded a special thank you for all the fans who voted, talked about working with his girlfriend, Jade, for the epilogue and told us what he would do with the Jameson whiskey that accompanied the Empire trophy.

SnitchSeeker: Have you done any scenes for the second film?
Gary Oldman:
Yes.

SnitchSeeker: Is that in the forest?
Gary Oldman:
Yeah, I’m a ghost. We’re ghosts.

SnitchSeeker: With David Thewlis?
Gary Oldman:
Yes, David, Harry’s parents. It’s ‘blink and you miss me.’ It really is. A very small scene.

SnitchSeeker: So what’s your best memory of Harry Potter?
Gary Oldman:
I think my fondest memory of it really is working with that fabulous cast and getting to know Dan, watch him develop as an actor and watch him grow up, really. It’s just the people that worked on it. The make up people, the costumes, the hair – it was always like it was going back to a family.

SnitchSeeker: Dan’s opening tonight on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Have you seen it yet?
Gary Oldman:
I have not seen it yet. I’ll send him a text later. It’s tonight?

SnitchSeeker: Yeah, it’s tonight.

SnitchSeeker: Hello, Tom.
Tom Felton:
How’re you doing, lovely? Nice to see you again.

SnitchSeeker: Did you do any of the reshoots and how did that go?
Tom Felton:
I was very lucky to have to work the day before they reshot.

SnitchSeeker: So you didn’t do them?
Tom Felton:
I didn’t do them. But I spoke to people who did and they said it all went fantastically. There was nothing wrong with the scene. They just wanted a couple additional shots to make it even more beautiful. So, I’m very excited to see it.

SnitchSeeker: Something to do with the snow or something?
Tom Felton:
I guess. I’m sorry I don’t know, unfortunately. But I know they’ve improved it and they’re very happy with it now

SnitchSeeker: So do you know how post-production is going on the film?
Tom Felton:
Yeah, unfortunately that’s the reason why the three Davids can’t be here tonight. They are literally putting the finishing touches on as we speak. So I’m very honored to be here in their place.

SnitchSeeker: Are you doing any press for the DVD release next month?
Tom Felton:
I will be. Unfortunately I’m not going to get out to New York for a lot of them.

SnitchSeeker: Because they’re doing stuff for the Exhibition.
Tom Felton:
They are. There’s the Exhibition and lots to look forward to out there, but undoubtedly I’ll be doing my best to promote it somewhere else.

What are you going to be doing after Potter? Have you got anything really lined up yet?
Tom Felton:
Yeah, we finished about twelve months ago. Since then I’ve completed about three films. Rise of the Apes will be coming out in August almost directly after Harry Potter, so that’ll be an exciting summer. Apparition is hopefully going ahead next year now, not this year. And, of course, Harry Potter as well to look forward to.

SnitchSeeker: We spoke to Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom, and he said in the new film you two have a fight scene.
Nick Moran:
Yeah, we had a lot of fun. I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but Scabior comes back with an army, and you know, it was terrific. It's a whole army, and it's just facing Neville - Neville fending off a whole army. And it's a very very funny scene, a really good action sequence.

SnitchSeeker: He said it took awhile to film.
Nick Moran:
We did weeks and weeks of night shoots, because it is an army, there was literally an army of bad guys, and we meet at the front. Fabulous, just fantastic.

SnitchSeeker: What was your best memory on Harry Potter?
Nick Moran:
Oh, all of it. Every day was a barrel of fun, every day was great. I wish I was in the first two and not the last two so could have done all of them. It's a job of a lifetime, you couldn't have a better job as an actor.
