Hogwarts RPG Name:
Christopher James
Sixth Year
Default

Christopher stepped timidly into the Charms classroom, clutching his bag tightly, quite nervous for the exam. VERY nervous, at that. He wasn't very good at keeping his composure when he was under pressure, especially not during exams. But this was fifty points for Gryffindor, and he knew that if he didn't do well, there would be a bit of trouble.

He saw their professor sitting in the room, looking rather bored, as he read a book. He must've thought this exam wasn't too hard, as he wasn't even giving the students so much as a second glance. This made Christopher feel slightly better, if anything. "Erm, hello Professor Descoteaux...." He said with a weak smile, waving slightly. He doubted the professor would even acknowledge him. Feeling slightly discouraged, looked around the room at all of the workstations up front.

He took a deep breath and walked shyly over to the workstations set up in the front of the room. He headed over to the first one, feeling a little light headed. He pulled out his wand and read the instructions for the first test. "Change the teacup into a ball. Then levitate it and drop it into the bucket." Easy enough. He glanced up at the bucket floating about three feet above the teacup. The wand movement had for this charm had always been the trickiest part for him. He traced his wand in a circle first clockwise, then one anti-clockwise, before saying with all of the confidence he could muster, "Mizrus buru!"

Christopher winced, expecting an explosion, or the teacup to have turned into some dangerous object. He opened one eye, and stared back at a perfectly round ball. He sighed and relief and muttered a quick, "Thank goodness," before moving on to the next step, with a bit more confidence this time.

The next charm was simple enough, not all that more difficult than the first. With a quick swish and flick, Christopher said strongly, "Globo leviosa!" To his great pleasure (and a little surprise), the ball soared into the air, landing perfectly in place into the box. His confidence rose a little more and he was ready to move on to the next step. He'd already finished one-thirds of the exam!

When he'd gotten to the second station, a grin on his face, he saw two balls jumping up and down, as if making some sort of catchy tune. At the foot of the station, there was a cardboard box. He supposed they were supposed to make these balls go into that box to? It couldn't have been too difficult, as they'd just done a similar task at the previous station. "Freeze one of the balls, and banish the second into the box," he muttered, reading the instructions provided. Okay, he could do that, no problem, right?

Christopher cleared is throat a little, trying to make his voice as clear as possible, as to not accidently sound like he was saying a different spell, causing him to fail. That would be just awful. He pulled his wand back out of his back pocket, and pointed it at the first ball. "Immobulus!" It flickered a tiny bit before freezing in midair, causing Christopher to panic. Had that really just happened?! Would he get marked down for that!? His heart sunk into his stomach, and he wasn't feeling as confident anymore. He hesitated before turning to the next ball, which was jumping by itself now. He pointed to the lonesome thing, and cried, "Depulso!" It shot into the box (a little too quickly), and Christopher felt a bit better, as that station hadn't been a complete failure.

Trying not to have a panic attack or begin to hyperventilate, Christopher moved on to the next, and final station. He read the instructions aloud, "Expand and reduce the range of the light of the lantern. Then make it appear 'invisible.'" His heart lifted, and his bruised confidence suddenly rose higher than it had yet. He'd always excelled when it came to expanding light, he just found it easy to preform! There was a lantern glowing brightly, causing the room to glow even more than it already did. He gripped his wand tightly and prepared for the final step in this exam.

Christopher moved his wand in a circle, before bringing his wand down in two sudden movements, creating an 'X' shape. "Luxra magnifica!" He said cheerfully, as he'd felt better the moment he stepped into the third station. The room was now glowing brighter than ever, causing the second year to shield his eyes from the intense light before continuing. Eyes squinted so he could attempt to see what he was doing; Christopher chirped a clear, "Finite!" The light flew back into the lantern, causing the room to return to its normal lighting.

He rubbed his eyes, before turning back to the station. Only one thing left! This exam was flying by, it was much quicker than he'd imagined it to be. He'd studied very hard, and was up all night the previous night practicing spells and charms on objects in his dorm. It was time to put his skills to the test. Taking a deep breath, the Gryffindor tapped his wand twice on the lantern and said sounding almost relieved, "Disillusiona!" The lamp vanished, and Christopher grinned. He had done it! One exam done, way too many others to complete.

He dropped onto a chair and began to relax. He was exhausted as he hadn't gotten much sleep the previous night, and he definitely hadn't had anything to eat or drink. He was dying for a glass of water..... or something chocolate. He could not deny, he was all for having something chocolate to eat at the moment!

Quickly remembering that he was still in class, Christopher lept up off of the seat in which he had been occupying and hurried over to the professor. "Er, finished..." He wasn't sure whether or not he had permission to go. He wait for a response, standing near the table where Professor Descoteaux sat, quite awkwardly. Just as he usually was.
