Chapter 4: Happy Thoughts


They finally kissed under the moonlight. It might be a little cliché but neither one of them would have thought about the place and the time. The scenery was perfect. The wind flew back and fort, no one was staring. It was a peaceful moment.

Their lips separated and none spoke a word. Draco knew that he made the right decision and Astoria knew it was a dream come true. They were both speechless but they keep staring at each other waiting for a conversation to come. Only the wind was speaking. It was a bit cold that night and Astoria wasn’t wearing anything thick. Draco being a secretive gentleman, took out his coat and gave it to Astoria.
“thanks” she finally spoke.
“You’re mine now, this is the least I could do.” Draco stroke her face gently. Astoria blushed. “Come. They might look for us if we stay here any longer.” Draco hold her hand and they walked together.

When they came back to the great hall, Crabbe approached Draco. “Malfoy, were going to the common room now. The quidditch team is celebrating tonight.” Draco wants to go to party but he knows that Astoria doesn’t like parties especially “hanging out”.
“Go! Have fun. I’ll just stay here for awhile.” Astoria insisted.
“You sure?”
“Yes, Draco.” Astoria said. Draco smiled widely this time.
“You called me Draco.” Draco whispered to her ear. He gave Astoria a kiss on the cheek and left the party with Crabbe.

Astoria was now alone. She sat at the party with multiple feelings running through her mind. She kept smiling and looked like a complete idiot.
“What’s wrong with her?” Ron uttered to Harry.
“Dunno, probably something happened to her tonight.” Harry answered.
“I can hear you, you know?” Astoria looked at them. Ron was scared of Astoria ever since their very first year at Hogwarts. Harry only talks to her during Potions class because they sit near her. “I’m just glad that I get to rest” Astoria continued.
“She probably bumped her head because partying is not ‘a rest’” Ron whispered.
“Shut up Weasley!” Astoria heard him again. “You’re lucky I’m in a good mood Ron. And that, unlike our other classmates I’m not prejudice.”
“Yeah, I feel so much better now.” Ron sarcastically said.
“You’re in a bad mood, are you?” Astoria deduced.
“Bloody no.”
“You’re jealous Hermione is going out with a different person!” Astoria smiled. “It’s not that hard to ask her to go out with you. She may be smart but she’s normal, Weasley.” Astoria stood up and left Harry and Ron alone in the table.
“I can’t believe I’m taking advice from someone who barely has any friends in school!” Ron said.
“She’s right you know.” Harry spoke. “besides, she’s probably having a relationship right now. She’s been smiling the whole time.”
“What makes you think that she’s in a relationship, Harry?”
“Well, that was Malfoy’s coat she’s wearing.” Harry smiled.

Back at the Slytherin’s common room the guys were talking a lot and drinking a few butter beers.
“Quidditch practice will not resume anymore. Bloody McGonagall told us that Quidditch will have to be postponed due to the weather.” Marcus hissed.
“Either that or she doesn’t want her Gryffindor pixies to get cold and freezing. Babies!” everyone laughed.
“Guys, the only way to beat the Gryffindors is to destroy Potter. We need some sort of diversion.” Terence uttered.
“or a weakness.” Marcus said while looking at his teammates in a greedy way.
“Are they together with that filthy mudblood?” Lucian snapped his fingers in excitement.
“No idea, but they seemed to be together most of the time. Who wants to be with a mudblood anyway? Pathetic!” Terence added.
“GUYS!” Blaise shouted. “We can defeat the Gryffindors anytime of the day but now is the time to celebrate.”
“yeah! Let’s drink to that!” Adrian raised his glass and everyone drank together.
“Speaking of such, Draco has been smiling the whole time we came in. I bet it has something to do with Greengrass huh?” Terence said and everyone turned to Draco, waiting for his answer.
“Shut up, Higgs! None of your business” Draco scolded.
“Come on Malfoy. We’re all guys here. Tell us” Marcus demanded.
When Draco was about to answer them, Astoria came and they all stared at the same time. Astoria froze and was curious why they were all looking at her awkwardly.
“Is that Draco’s coat, Greengrass?” Adrian noticed that Astoria was still wearing a black coat on her.
“Y-Yes…” Astoria answered in hesitant.
“She wears your coat and still you can’t tell us you’re dating her?” Blaise looked at Draco, confused.
“So this was it all about, if I was dating Draco or not?” Astoria asked.
“And now she calls you Draco.” Lucian teased.
“Stop teasing!” Draco stood up and went to Astoria.
“Sorry about that.” Draco whispered. Astoria took Draco’s coat and gave it to him. “It’s not a big deal. Plus, it’s cute to see you finally getting bullied by others.” She smiled at him.
“Really?”
“Yes really.”
“Well I guess I should get bullied more often.” Draco leaned to her for a kiss but Astoria refused for a moment. “Not in front of your friends, Draco. I’m tired from the party. I better get some sleep. Good night.” She bid goodbye to Draco and his friends. After she left the common room all she could hear is boys teasing Draco a lot. Some were howling and some were probably imitating the scene. Astoria couldn’t keep the smile off her face, she felt so happy that night…….. and so was Draco.
