Personality

An extremely laid back guy, Gilbert lives by the motto of not taking things so seriously. He feels things would get done easier and faster when having a good time, which having a good time did not work out too well working as a Healer..unless his patients just so happened to be the unfortunate victim of uncontrollable giggles. A child at heart, he is known to be a bit untidy and very unorganized, but that's the way he likes it. It's not like he doesn't know where everything is, because he does.

But, despite his easy going and fun ways, Gilbert IS a Ravenclaw. He would just rather spin on a spinning chair than show the Ravvie in him. He is getting a spinning chair, right?

History

Home Life
Born in a small wizarding town in Vianden, Luxembourg, Gilbert was the middle child of Alan and Eloise Shepard. His parents, both Healer's, tried to raise their children just like any other normal pureblood family. But their liking of muggle things made that near impossible. With things like raising a dozen sheep and having a television in the house, the Shepard's were considered anything but normal.

Gilbert and his older brother Patrick, being only a year apart in age, were very close growing up. It was actually Patrick who sparked Gilbert's interest in Herbology, taking him through their wizarding neighbors gardens while he was in search of flobberworms and garden gnomes. Of course Gilbert will never admit to his brother sparking the interest.

The brothers bond only strengthened when their sister Destiny was born, torturing her just like typical older brothers would. And because they weren't around much when she was younger due to their schooling, when they were home, it was practically constant. Gilbert will say he was the more sympathetic brother towards her, when in reality, he was the one who started it all.

Like Patrick would be able to come up with having her believe she is a Leprechaun..

School Life
An early bloomer, Gilbert's magical ability came in at the young age of four and with those abilities came his ~~fear~~ dislike of eggs. To make a long and horrifying story short, his Grandmother, an enlarged egg and a sheep will terrify a child for life. After that incident, it was no surprise when he received his Hogwarts letter seven years later.

The train ride to Hogwarts was eventful, meeting his best friend Cyryl Grudzinski over a chocolate frog eating race. Of course Gilbert let Cyryl win, seeing as the boy was younger and more likely to throw a fit if he had lost. And that is what he will tell anyone, but really, he had lost fair and square. Things just got better when he was sorted into Ravenclaw with Cyryl which was no surprise there. The Shepard's came from a long line of Ravenclaws and it was only right that that's where he went, too.

Exceeding in all his classes except Divination and History of Magic, because they were boring, Gilbert found that he didn't even have to try for high marks; they just came naturally. His laid back attitude towards classes and studying had people fooled and quite a few times, he was asked if he was sorted correctly.

Even with his high marks though, Gilbert found himself in trouble every once in a while with the Professor's, but thanks to those high marks of his, his detentions were not as bad as others.
