She didn't even no that her mother had boyfrined. She was replacing her father and she knew it. The first and probably only letter the whole term. She couldn't even wait to tell her to her face. There was no way that she was going back to her mother's this summer at all now.

Emily ran up and pulled down her hood. It was cold and wet outside, but she had to send this letter to her sister as soon as possible.
She looked around at the owls, wondering which would be best for her.
'This would be so much easier if I had my own owl' she thought, looking at the schools owls when she noticed an older girl here as well. She looked... angry? Emily coudn't really tell.
"Hey, are you alright?" she asked, hopeing the girl wasn't too mad.
