Yet, his heart wanted him to slow his pace, not simply to rest his weary bones but to take it all in. These were to be his last weeks at Hogwarts; he needed to savor every last bit. No matter how much he complained about being surround by juveniles who weren't worthy of his presence, along with his other woes filled with conceit, Amadeus would miss these hallowed halls of learning. For now, his mind was racing. If his team happened to make it to the quidditch finals, things would be even more hectic. Amadeus did not know what he'd do if he had to study for NEWTs and attend daily practices in order to face Hufflepuff in the finals.

Shaking it off, the blue-eyed blonde approached one of his favorite places in the castle: the door-sized mirror that blocked a caved-in passage. No matter how much of a rush he was in, the vain Ravenclaw could always take a moment to make absolutely sure that he was aesthetically pleasing. Not a hair seemed to be out of place and, had there been less students around, the boy might have even flashed a grin or two at himself. Smoothing out the lapels on his jacket, he straightened his shoulders as he examined himself from his gelled head to his spit-shined toes.
It wasn't something she did often, as she didn't have a lot of free time. The girl found lurking around random parts of the castle particularly tempting lately, though. It was probably something to do with the fact she'd be leaving Hogwarts in a few short months. Melanie didn't have a lot of time left and her, undoubtedly flawed, logic told her it would be a good idea to spend part of the time she did have taking pointless walks through the familiar corridors.

The girl's tennis shoes barely made a noise as she sauntered down the hallway, taking in everything around her as if she was at some sort of famous art show. Of course, Melanie couldn't help but notice the tall blonde in front of the mirror. Wondering who it was, she peeeeked around him to get a look at the glassy surface and-

Ohhhh! Yay! She knew him! ...Sorta. "Hi Amadeus." Melanie grinned brightly as she recognized the Ravenclaw, ceasing the peeking. She even stood a little straighter, mimicking his stiff posture to the best of her ability as she peered over his shoulder at the sliver of her that showed. Her green eyes were unblinking, as she stared straight ahead and pretended to be in Amadeus' shoes.
