As a child, Elias lived in Manchester with his two parents. Growing up, he was a very shy, reserved boy. He didn't have many friends, though he always seemed to be dabbling in something. One week it might have been baseball, and another cooking. Whatever it was, he always put his best effort forth.
At the age of ten, like any other wizarding child, Elias received his owl from Hogwarts. He was not, however, excited. To him it was just another place he would stand out and feel awkward. And so he refused to go. After much begging and pleading, his parents finally told him that he could go the first year and if he did not like it he could transfer, or as a last resort, be homeschooled.
That year, and in fact, for six years after that, Elias attended Hogwarts. As a first year he was sorted into Slytherin, much to his parents surprise. In school he was at the top of nearly every class. Namely, DADA and Transfiguration, which he then went on to study in University.
Almost immediately upon graduating, he packed his trunk and set off to Austrailia, where he would live for the next seventeen years. He met his wife, Lauren, at the age of twenty in the university's garden, where their first date was held four months later. The two married three years later, incidentally in another garden. At the age of twenty seven, Elias was accepted as the new transfiguration professor at a wizarding school in Sydney, where he then taught for nine years.
At the ages of thirty and thirty one, Elias and Lauren were blessed with the news that they were going to have a baby girl. The process of finding a name, finding a middle name, designing her nursery and who-knows what else consumed them for the entire nine months Lauren was pregnant. Caroline Ivory Pierce was born on September 14 2068, and has been gracing them with her abundant laughter ever since.
After living in Austrailia for the better part of their lives, Elias convinced Lauren to move the family back to Manchester, where they now currently survive amongst the various plants dominating the front and back yards.

Though Elias was once a shy, self-contained person, he has grown to become significantly more social. He is also just as hard working now as he was all those years ago, and still has a large affiliation with baseball and cooking (and gardens).
His family is his life. And that might be and under-statement. His wife works at home as a clothing designer/maker, as well as watching over their spontaneous five year old with a soft-spot for pickles. It's not often that Elias does anything outside of work without his family.
Inside, he's really just a grown up kid, and having Caroline around does absolutely nothing to hide that fact. Oh yeah, and that somebody you saw riding around on the shopping cart at the grocery store? Yeah that was him. Since becoming a Slytherin and meeting Lauren he's broken his shell quite a bit, though maybe not enough to set off a couple of dungbombs.
As a professor, he was known for being a great teacher, with the side affect of being incredibly strict. But know this-- he's only strict because he cares. Elias is extreamly well known for putting other people first, and on rare occassion has been seen defending people. Remember, he got an 'outstanding' in DADA at the NEWT level, don't mess with him.
