It was a bit too late to stop the motion of her arm. She had brought it back with such force she was sure it would connect if he wasn't quick enough to move. She blurted out a favorite word of her brother's and kept her head down, grimacing as she recoiled her arm.

Really, given Lexi's mood, he should have known. Whether it was the stupid Gryffindor in him or simply the lack of logical thought, he didn't even consider the possibility of how Lexi could be when she was so upset. He was just turning his head to give the man that had escorted them to the table a nod and tight lipped smile when the elbow he didn't even see coming made a nice dent in his stomach and drove all the air out of his lungs.

A cough and sputter left him as he doubled over the girl, one hand gripping the back of the chair to keep himself upright, the other still on her shoulder. It took him a good moment to get his senses back, and in that time he dropped his forehead onto the top of Lexi's, taking in a slow breath when his lungs finally decided it was a good time to expand again. And whether it was the stupid Gryffindor in him or the heart that was aching for all of them, he wrapped on arm around her shoulders and gave her a warm hug from that position. "Should...I come back...later?"
