Le Trésor De Vie The Treasure of Life
Alicia walked back and forth; nervously the thirteen year-old blond girl was excited, nervous, and utterly happy right now. She was about to have a sister.
“Would you like to come in?” The nurse asked after a good hour of Alicia’s none-stop pacing. She turned, quickly, almost too quickly on her heels knocking a book off of the small table next to her. Oops.
She had to work on that. Clumsy, was what everyone at school called her – because that was what she was. It was more of a diss-though, especially since every other girl, and guy at her school was extremely graceful and elegant. Ali already felt like she was doomed to be the only clumsy, uncoordinated, and average-looking girl there. She, unlike some of her fellow classmates wasn’t part Veela.
And she was proud of that. No boy would be attracted to her because of some strange magic that she herself couldn’t control – they would like her because of her wit, her personality – oh and the fact she made jokes easily and not to mention clumsiness sometimes was appealing. Seeing, the guy who recently liked her – her neighbor Mickey said she was really nice, fun, wild – all good stuff and then he left her for the next half-Veela or three-quarter Veela he saw. Typical.
Still, she walked into the room – there, in her mother’s arms was a small bundled girl. Oh she felt sick – her nerves were on a rampage. She took a step closer, and then noticed another girl wrapped in the same blankets. Twins? She thought, happily – she had two sisters to play with! This was even better!
“What are their names?” She asked, smiling.
“This, is Aurelie, and this is Jacqueline.” Caitlin Devereaux smiled, her blond hair in a curly sweaty mess atop her head. She looked like she wasn’t in pain anymore – and that, was good. That was perfect.
“May I hold her?” Ali asked, smiling.
“Of course,” her mother smiled handing her the little blue-eyed bundle of joy. Still, with Ali’s utter lack of luck, the lovely bundle of joy vomited on her – the first thing her sister did in life was vomit on her. Ugh, gross – but typical.
Uncle Luke walked over – he wasn’t her uncle, but her mother’s best friend. He took the little girl out of her arms, “here why don’t you go get washed up, and I’ll bring you home?” He offered smiling.
Ali nodded ready to get the sick out of her hair - but not ready to leave the little girls alone.
