Levi glanced up, trying to play it cool. "Huh? Oh, er, no...I'm okay..." he lied. Unfortunately, he could hear the insincerity in his voice and he was sure that Cass would have picked up on it too. She was a smart girl. It probably would have made things more awkward if he didn't speak his mind. Otherwise, he might have had to make up some other crappy excuse and try to bolt for his dorm. Maybe it would have been better just to let it out.
"Well..." he hesitated. "You know, if you ever feel like I'm being too close and you need some space, let me know. I don't wanna, um, annoy you or anything. I'm sorry if I carry on too much as well. It's just...well, I've got noone else to talk to and I consider you a good--no, a great friend. I hope you feel the same way about me." |
