Oh, and now the lady was introducing herself. "I'm... uh... Milton... Bradley" he said hoping that she was just another pureblood. So far he'd had great luck with people not commenting on his name, he'd hate for that luck to run out. "I work in Madame Primpernelle's." he said. He turned to look at the fellow shopkeeper. She was gorgeous... which made Milton feel like an idiot. He was getting party advice... from someone that obviously got invited to a lot of parties... and someone he'd most likely have to see again.
Yup. From what he'd heard about parties this seemed the way they normally went. "I was... er.. just deciding where to sit." he said. That was a good excuse to why he looked confused, right? "I wasn't sure if there was a proper order or something... since this is celebrating the promotion of someone." Someone whom he had never met. And by the looks of it all of England was invited to this thing. At the sigh, Aliceara got a bit concerned. She'd apologized, but not everyone always thought accidental collisions were truly accidental. It seemed this was one of those times she needed to try and gauge the man carefully, but she smiled as he seemed to accept the apology. Not to mention leaned forward again to snag that shrimp, along with a deviled egg and a few black olives. Still a lot of vegetables, but it was a start. "I didn't want to be responsible for depriving you of your salad," she said lightly, as he'd seemed to right the plate without much damage done.
His return of her introduction was graced with the slightest of raised eyebrows, mostly in reaction to his obvious intent of disguising his name, or possible embarrassment. She oddly understood that, even though her name actually was just known. It wasn't because it was the same as someone else's, and for that reason she didn't actually say anything about the whole situation. "It's nice to meet you, Milton," she said simply. "You know, you're the first shopkeeper of Madame Primpernelle's that I've met while they've actually still had that position," she added with a little laugh, thinking of the encounter with David in her shop from years ago. Completely oblivious to the fact it seemed yet another person had ended up feeling a bit out of sorts at encountering herself.
Idly munching on a baby carrot from her plate, she turned to let her blue eyes scan the rest of the setup as he brought up seating. "It seems seating is pretty open. Except for when it comes to the students," she observed, eyes flickering past the obviously younger guests, some of whom she recognized from earlier summers. She wasn't exactly sure why there seemed to be a delegation from Hogwarts, as that brought her back to her misgivings about this whole event. "Well, and the official table. But it seems any of the others are free to claim," she concluded, her gaze coming back to her fellow shopkeeper.
