Used to having very limited contact with infants, Remus never failed to feel a little uncomfortable around children below the age of eight. Nymphadora Tonks, Sirius’ six year old cousin was not the exception to this rule.

“Mister Lupin, can I ask you something?” Tonks asked, admiring her mismatched socks.

“Certainly,” Remus said, sounding oddly formal and wondered what could possibly be taking Sirius so long.

“What is Gryffindor? And Slytherin? Why’s Sirius growing a beard? And why don’t I know mummy’s other family?”

Remus coughed back a chuckle. “You’re going to give your mother so much grief, Nymphadora.”

“It’s Tonks!”
