As the older boy also joined the conversation, she reassured them both.
"No, no, the invitation didn't say anything about bringing anything. My mum just wouldn't let me go without any!"
She smiled and put her book back into her satchel, as she realised they were now nearly at Diagon Alley. "Well that's a relief." He gave the girl an appreciative smile. "Thank you."
He would have offered a shake of his hand or introductions in greeting if the cars hadn't started to descend. Instead, he pulled back and pressed against his seat again, doing his best not to force his eyes closed. Really, cars were supposed to stay on the ground.
