Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort have been immortalised in a new limited-edition Magical Realms collection set of official stamps from the UK's Royal Mail, along with other fantasy literary characters like the White Witch and Aslan the lion from CS Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, Merlin and Morgana from the tales of King Arthur, and Rincewind and Nanny Ogg from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. The set of stamps have been issued at midnight GMT, March 8, 2011. Previews of the Harry Potter first-class stamps, featuring images of Michael Gambon as Dumbledore and Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort from Order of the Phoenix, can be seen here.





On why they were chosen, a Royal Mail spokesman said, “They’re a magical tribute to some of our legends of literature.”
