It was almost as if she was waiting for him to fall over. She tried not to let it show, but it probably did anyway. She was impressed enough when he seemed to manage it, but she still waited a second or two to make sure he didn't tip over.
She retrieved a pain potion and handed it to him, "Drink this, love."
For a moment, she gave him another considering glance, before she continued on, "You've got quite a rescue team out in the waiting room. They all want to come in and see you."
Jimmy took the potion gladly and gave the nurse a brief,but genuinely thankful smile.
He sipped it tentatively, made a face, then downed the whole thing.
"I do?"
Stare.
... "Like who?"
It didn't occur to him to guess, he just simply wasn't used to counting on anyone to be there for him, even when he needed it.
