Iris sat and watched the students who did the demonstrations on the black board. As they were told to calculate their own numbers, Iris wasn't sure if Hadley was talking to the people who'd just done the Teachers names, or the whole class.
She picked up her quill anyway, and wrote down her surname. The surname that she really didn't like.
Iris looked at the textbook, with a frown. She didn't like this task. It was making her think about all the family issues that Iris didn't like to address. The ones she just wanted to forget.
Her interpretation wasn't very creative or insightful. To be perfectly honest though, Iris didn't want to try and interpret these things about her family. Doing so wouldn't bring her dad back, and wouldn't make her family accept her, so what was the point, really?
