Funny thing was... Neptune sort of knew Jake WOULD be along. He was sort of comfortable and predictable that way. "Sorry I cried and look so.. you know." Sniff. He knew.
Jake only shrugged. Who REALLY knew what WOULD have happened if something was different... in ANY situation. The possibilities were endless and when Jake thought of this ANY time... it hurt his head.
So.
Yeah.
"Well... we're here now. Nothing terrible happened in the waiting room. And hey, you can even see Jim when he's up in and about in the common room. None of us around to get in the way."
That last part kind of caught in his throat as he said it, but Jake ignored that.
"Never be sorry for showing your emotions, Tune... and as for the way you look, you're still beautiful," Jake told her, and it was true. Being upset was fine... it was when people got ANGRY and their faces contorted that they kept the ugly. Yeah. "Honest." Granted, he hadn't really SEEN Neptune's face when she was actually crying... she'd kind of hidden. But it didn't matter anyway. Like at all.
