Christopher nodded. "Well thank you for clarifying, I was a bit worried you were caling me naiive or something." He chuckled. "I completely agree with you about growing on his journey to find Cunegonde. But as for her- auck! I just can't stand the woman! She only has looks. I mean, she's not smart, she'd betray Candide to benefit herself in a heartbeat, I mean, what does he see in her?!" Christopher didn't like Cunegonde.
"Well I disagree with that sentiment with Cunegonde. I mean, she was a product of the time period. After her village was pillaged, that rhymed, she was basically sold into the life of a
pleaser. She could do nothing about it. Sure she is not the most virtuous character in the world, but she fell victim to circumstance. Besides she loses her beauty in the end, isn't that some kind of justice? And another thing that time period women were either pure or unpure. Because of the army that took advantage of her she was rendered impure and therefore only had one option to survive." Selina added seriously.
Then she laughed, the two had just had a discussion about philosophy. Yet Selina was somewhat glad, she had no one who understood her love for advanced literature, for an eleven year old at least.
"We just argued about Candide. Something is wrong there. We are not even thirteen."
