The big ball of water flew by the professor and hit the tub so hard, that he actually moved it closer to Jaina. "Wow! Was that good, professor?"
"That was good," Jared grinned. It seemed Benjamin had gotten the hang of the charm quite quickly. Once the object had been returned to its normal state, that of a teacup, he continued.

"The second charm taught in the first class was Leviosa, or the Basic Levitation Charm. It's an extremely simple charm, and one of the spells most commonly used in everyday life. Leviosa levitates an object, and permits the caster to move it through the air, as desired. A prefix must be added before the 'Leviosa,' to complete the incantation. For example, Teacup leviosa to levitate a teacup."

"The wand movement is a swish and a flick. Like this." He pointed his wand at the teacup, swish-and-flick, said 'teacup leviosa' out loud, and the teacup rose further into the air, circling him before being set down. "Go ahead and give it a try."

Seeing the goblet floating there, Emmaleigh couldn't help but grin. Even though she had grown up knowing a little bit about magic, she still found it incredible. "My friends back home would flip if they saw this," she said aloud. She brought her left hand up, she gave a sweeping motion, and said "Evapora." Looking into the goblet, she frowned, A third of the water remained in the cup. After a few moments, it refilled, and she just stood there, trying to center herself. When she was ready, she brought her wand up and preformed the spell again. This time, looking into it, she saw a few drops still at the bottom. Well, that was better, she thought. "Its supposed to dry all the water right?" she asked.
"I'd say Evapora, but remember that evaporation has a cooling effect so, if you don't want a towel that's a little cool and stiff, Tergeo is a better option."

"I can understand," Jared grinned. As a child, he had been fascinated by muggles, and could guess their reactions to such a display of magic. "Once you've mastered it, only the water you want to," he said, in response to Emmaleigh's question. "If it's half the contents of the goblet you're aiming for, it's half the contents of the goblet that are going to disappear."

Given, of course, that one had the charm down pat.

"As you can see, I'm great at that, but have a hard time with aguamenti." she said between giggles. [B]"I'm really sorry, but I just had to since you missed class. I'm sorry, Professor, for interupting. It was a fantastic class and as you can see, I learned a lot!"
Should he consider the fact that students that weren't Neptune Bott could blow others kisses in front of him, without fearing that they might lose their house a gazillion points, an achievement?

....

"It's fine," Jared grinned. They could have a water balloon fight. It didn't really bother him, given that the stations in the room had spells suspended over them to ensure they could not be destroyed and reduced to unhappy, floaty sawdust, during his absence.

Prevention is better than cure, after all.
