Vashti had finally told someone outside of her family what had happened to her dad, and Anakin had confided in her his own unhappy secret, and they'd only known each other for about half a year. Vashti only hoped she wasn't also grouped in the people who got awkward around him after finding out. "I don't see why they should," she commented. "You're still the same person you were before they knew about it." This, she suddenly realized, was quite true. And really, it was probably better that she did know, so she could make sure he was always able to understand her, like not turning her head away which she would tend to do if she didn't know.
Shame he couldn't play Quidditch anymore though. It was such a fun sport she couldn't imagine not being able to participate in it. "I bet you were - are - a really good player," she said with a small smile. And then an idea occurred to her. "What if you and I played some time? It wouldn't be a real game since there'd only be two of us, so you wouldn't have to worry about a referee making any calls or anything." It was worth a shot, right? She wasn't sure where they'd be able to do this, but she was sure she'd find some place eventually. If Anakin agreed to it, of course.
Anakin rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, before turning to glance at her again.
"I'm sorry for dumping this on you. You okay?" After all, it was her own issues they'd started with. And he didn't want to seem insenstive and like he was trying to take all the attention.
Watching her, as he'd finally realized the idiocy of turning his head back and forth to avoid looking at her. He couldn't do that, he HAD to look at her in order to know what she was saying. Giving a slight shrug, he shook his head slightly, avoiding her eyes and instead watching her mouth.
"I dunno...I guess, maybe, they just don't know what to say to me." At least he had his Da and Seb.
"I think handicaps in general just make people...feel awkward."
Anakin gave a small chuckle and a slight smile, and nodded,
"Thanks. But hey, at least I can come watch you at the games right?" He nudged her slightly with a small smile. And then she was offering that maybe they could play sometime? Ani'd be lying if the thought didn't excite him. He really did love Quidditch.
"Really? You'd be cool with that?"
