He was on his way to the Library, because, well, he did that quite often and it felt more like home than his own Common Room, truth be told. Amazingly enough, Jake also liked books, so his chances of finding him in both of those places was very high.

If it wasn't for Melanie's book (and a couple small ones) then the boy wouldn't have stopped in front of the mirror to pick them up. Except...he didn't pick them up, he stared at the mirror instead.

"Glitter girl," he said, almost glaring at the mirror. His hair almost held no golden undertones and he was still blaming Lori for that. He was missing her, though, and he would never admit the fact that the Common Room needed her cheerful self.
