"Ruddy rain already in the season?" Lilly asked aloud as the rain began to fall to the ground. In that instant she was almost entirely wet.
James felt his heart miss a beat. She hadn't hexed him! And she was agreeing to go to Hogsmeade with him. He gave her a charming smile before he groaned, a rain drop hitting him on the nose.
Rain. Seriously. The rain had to ruin his pleasant chat with Lily. Pulling off his robe so he only had his uniform on, he gave it to her.
"Get under it to help protect you from the rain. I'm not fussed with the rain, if anything I love it. Everything's better in rain. Quidditch, my hair, pranks." He gave her a short smile before starting to jog for the castle. He may love rain but lightning was out of the question. If he got fried his hair probably wouldn't last.
Turning around to see if Lily was following, James ran backwards for a bit, enjoying the feel of the rain on his face.
