Again?
He couldn't be serious. She was the cruel one? "You don't know cruel then. It would have been cruel to eat all of your sandwich." Melanie was generous- She only ate one bite! "Or to make fun of you for crying so often." In Melanie's opinion, no one his age should cry over a sandwich. That was just ridiculous. And, yet, she still felt the slightest twinge of guilt for the "weeping" Gryffindor. Eventually, Melanie turned around to face him, lips contorted into a small frown.
"I'll buy you chocolate if you stop...?" she attempted, defeated. That usually worked on 5-year-olds, right? Then wouldn't it work for Braeden too?
Braeden scoffed at Melanie's comments about cruelty.
And then she suggested getting him chocolate. Chocolate?
Chocolate?! "I don't like chocolate," said the boy simply, turning to face the Hufflepuff girl once more. "I like my sandwich, though," he added, giving her a look. Yeah. He wasn't going to settle for anything less than his precious sandwich, even if it was all
. half-eaten now, thanks to Melanie.
"Oh and I agree about the mayonnaise, so if you could add some to it for me that would be great too," he added with a grin. As if any of his requests would be done. Melanie was a cruel, cruel girl; poor little Brae.
