Her next comment caused him to shake his head, his manner not unamused. "There's a certain student that has more or less taken to calling me Professor Evil," he grinned. "Even if it is - I believe - more often to himself than to my face."

"Lily Potter," Jared said, the lazy grin growing - if that were even possible - even lazier, as he responded to her question. He doubted she had expected a straight response from him, and teasing her, even if only a little, had started to become a habit. "She contacted me personally, the other day." Back to the memories, and it seemed she had just expanded their scope. Jared gave a light nod, inspecting another cup. "It's amazing, how many years back one can go, in this place." Decades back.

"Certain things?" He looked up from the gilded cup, to catch her expression. She seemed amused, too. "Now I have to wonder what exactly you're hiding from me, Renée."

Renée sent Jared another grin as he agreed with her comment about her advantage, especially given the convoluted argument that followed. She knew he could block her, but she assumed that an impostor might be less able to. "Occlumency is just as rare as Legilimency," she replied with a wink, before listening as he spoke of student issues. Nodding slightly at his explanation, a smile crept onto her face. "So another nickname then," she commented lightly. "At least nobody thinks you'd hold creatures hostage." She really was still amused that Ellie was that determined to not like her, but it remained a challenge to break through that wall. "Most unflattering things aren't directly said to our faces, I believe. probably out of fear of losing points," she observed. "But then some flattering comments aren't as well." That was somewhat of a different concept altogether, but the spectrum of thoughts she'd seen among the students when it came to herself was quite funny.

She raised an eyebrow at the lazily given diversion to the award conversation, however. "Oh? You've taken to conversing with deceased historical figures now?," she said back, teasing tone to her voice. Especially as it harkened back to their conversation about Euripides. She knew he was teasing her, and for now it wasn't that important to pry and get the actual answer. If he didn't want an extra set of eyes in his search, so be it. And it seemed he'd gone back to perusing the trophies anyhow, and she shrugged lightly as he spoke. "I've always been curious if, given quite a bit of exploration into the corners of this room, one could find awards going all the way back in history." Past recent historical times, at least, although she wasn't sure if there would be much from the beginnings of Hogwarts.

As he'd looked back up at her, she carefully let her eyes flicker to an expression of innocence, although a hint of sparkle remained. "Whyever would you think I'm hiding anything from you, Jared?," she asked, feigned lilt to her voice as she stood there, before she laughed lightly. There wasn't much she hadn't at least alluded to in their conversations, and she had a feeling his secrets were more intriguing than her own anyway.
