... Whaa? Dallin frowned. He looked down at his book, then set it on the couch next to him. He had the urge to get up and leave, even though she said that he could stay, but decided against it.

"Are you sad?" he asked quietly, then blushed when he realized how childish he sounded. Not to mention he shouldn't have even asked that question, since he didn't even know the girl. He didn't even know what her name was. Oh well. She didn't have to answer.
