"I intended to take a look inside this room, at some point," Jared said, inclining his head to look at a cup, gilded and rather charming. He could see why those that had their names engraved on an item here, must be proud of their achievement or achievements. "Someone I know should have a plaque or two bearing her name, here. She has been..." Bothering me? Badgering me? "Inquiring if I've seen it." Memories? "This place does hold an amazing number." Cups, trophies, plaques, each a result of a collection of memories. The secretive touch to the atmosphere didn't surprise him, given that.
Ah? "Now what makes you think that, Professor Bishop?" Jared asked, the half-smile returning. "What could an innocent man like me, possibly have to hide?" Return of the lazy little grin. A bit of a contemplative look came onto Renée's face at the point Jared made, as she idly wound a finger through a curl of hair that hadn't quite been pinned up by the feather. "That's true. But then, you have to admit, I'd be more likely than some to know if you were an impostor," she pointed out finally, mischievous sparkle in her eyes. At least, it would definitely be more likely if the impostor wasn't an Occlumens. In some cases, her ability came in rather useful. People could rarely surprise her. "I guess it's a good thing we don't have anyone listening, though. Who knows what rumors a comment like that might start," she added, instinctively picking up on unsaid additions to the topic, before it seemed the conversation was shifting to other ideas.
"Mmm," she said, a bit noncommittally, as he confessed to an intention to explore this room. Looking around again, she smiled at all the names that she saw, wondering what stories they had to accompany them, before she realized he'd continued speaking. "Oh? Who is it?," she asked, returning her attention to him. "Perhaps I could help you locate them." She figured she was still rather familiar with the awards and plaques that were in here, barring the new additions. Her sense of exploration hadn't left her, at least, or her tenacity. She wasn't about to pry if he chose to keep the information hidden, however. There was the distinct possibility she might prowl the room anyhow, though. It just seemed to instigate that feeling in herself. "It does," she said with a slight nod, as he responded to her comment about memories. "I'd imagine it could be said there are more than just what are directly connected to each object, even." The memories brought in by visitors and the like.
But then he'd responded to her teasing comment, and she turned to him again with an eyebrow raised, as she'd kind of gone off on a little bit of a prowl as she'd spoken earlier anyway. "Oh, nothing," she said lightly, expression flickering back to her normal amused one she seemed to get around him. "That would be quite the question, though. Given certain things . . .," she continued, trailing off a little. She knew he'd know what she was referring to, just as she knew he knew she'd let him have his secrets for now. Especially as she imagined he still hadn't figured out all her own.
