Simon looked at the Professor, he was still upset about someone thinking it was alright to sneak about when the Professor talked again. "Well I was wondering if you had any idea where I could learn a few tips about Divination." Simon thought it would be good to try and learn a bit more about Divination so that he could actually know what was going on. As Simon spoke, Renée gave him a slightly admonishing look as he called Mr. Gevrik crazy. Practically to the man's face, and while she had to appreciate the show of bravery, she also wasn't about to agree with it. "Simon, I'd prefer it if you didn't call people names in my classroom," she said gently, already noticing how the dark man was noticing the comment. That was never good, and especially when she was still fairly certain she could sense things about the security advisor. She wasn't about to let either one do anything to the other, and she especially didn't want her poor little student getting himself in over his head.
But she nodded as he went into his explanation of why he'd asked to speak to her, features softening slightly at the scared look in his eyes. "I'm glad you're interested," she replied. "I'd imagine you could find quite a few books in the library, or if you like I could let you look at some of my personal collection. But perhaps we should consider that for a later date," she added, hinting that it would probably be better for him to take his leave before Mr. Gevrik bored holes in his head. The books would last, and Simon could always inquire with Madam Donovan as well, if he chose the library. Quote:

To not understand lessons, that is." And as Miss Kelley spoke up, Renée turned to the Ravenclaw girl with another smile. At least she hadn't made any comments about the surprise arrival to the room, even if it hadn't truly been a surprise to herself. "Whatever you prefer, Miss Kelley," she replied, still as friendly as she'd been to Simon. "but if it's a book you're after, I'd imagine the same I told Simon holds true. What specific topic were you interested in? What we discussed in class?" A thoughtful look crossed her face. "I don't have the book here, but if you stop by my office later, I should be able to find it for you to borrow." She meant it when she'd said borrow. She trusted her students, but there was still always the possibility they'd misconstrue her intentions. Quote:

Speaking of such students... interesting how he had been documented as crazy without so much as a second glance from the child.
He stared at the back of the boy's head. Just stared. Back to Ikenna Gevrik, of the staring at Simon's head, and Renée quite intentionally gave the man a smile. Even if she still had her suspicions, and those suspicions still came from the almost kindred spirit quality. Kindred spirit that she didn't trust as completely on her side, but there was still a bit of a similar quality. She had a feeling he knew it as well, but her expression didn't falter. "Of course. Thank you, Mr. Gevrik," she replied to him. "I'd imagine the students should filter out soon." There only seemed to be a few pairs working on readings still, at least.
She just had to hope he didn't bore holes in anyone else with those eyes while he waited. People had thought she had a piercing gaze whens he wanted. It seemed he had that in spades.
