What goes in and what comes out? Hehe.
"No, I meant the feeding part." She set the owl on the low table before her,
"Will you hold him here for a moment?" Waiting for the young boy to hold the owl where he stood, Maya got up and retrieved several things from the drawers, even stepping out the back door and coming back with what seemed like a dark brown porridge on a small plate.
"This is a mixture of bird food and insects." She showed it to him, sitting down again,
"You take this pipette and gather some of the mixture, like this," she did so,
"and then you firmly but gently feed him." She inserted the point of the pipette into the bird's mouth, making sure it would get the food inside.
"You think you can do that? Why don't you give it a go." She handed him the pipette.

Maybe she could make a costume for Walnut as well, you know, since it was part of the assignment to come to class dressed up as some sort of magical creature. "Thank you, Professor Saylen," Kurumi said bowing in gratitude. She thought about asking about that low ceiling comment, but she had already taken up a good deal of the lady's time. "I'll make sure that he follows instructions and comes in his own costume as well." Well, she hadn't been able to meet Chibi, which was rather unfortunate, but at least now she was able to keep an eye on Walnut so he didn't eat Momotaro. "I'll leave you to your work now."
Hearing the thankyou, Maya simply gave her a small smile, which soon turned into a look of surprise at the bow. She'd seen the young girl do the same before, but it was still a curious thing to the Mexicana.
"Good." She nodded.
Er. A costume for the cat? Hehe.
"I look forward to seeing both of your costumes." Oh yes she was,
all of their costumes, actually. He he heee.
And she was leaving?
"Very well. See you in class, then, Miss Hollingeberry." And with another more genuine smile, she bid the young girl adieu. Unless she wanted to ask something else?

It was a good job the book didn't have pictures. That would have been far more horrifying. "I was told to come here if I didn't understand. And I don't."
Squint. And not just squinting was done, but that sort of squint when your eyebrows sort of knit together in puzzlement and confusion. And suspicion.
He read a book given to him by the librarian... and he was asking
Maya for help?
"If I'm not mistken, and I don't think I am," unless the librarian suddenly had a brainfart,
"Shouldn't you ask Miss Donvan about books?" Gross? What did that mean?
Did the boy just swear?? What did 'gross' mean?
"Mister..." WHAT was his name?
"Unless the book is about Creatures or Mexico, I suggest you go back to the library. Or feed it to the goats." No, don't. She was joking. And then her curiosity came through.
"What is this book about?" Hmmm?
