Pondering her question for only a moment he nodded his head. "Of course I care. They are the future protectors of the Wizarding World. It is important to teach them. Especially the hard way. Toughens them up and gets the point across that the reality of the job is far more dangerous than the theory of it," he said... it seemed rather poignant for Damien. Eck! What was WRONG with him. He had a normal, rational thought.
Shaking his head slightly he smirked rather playfully. "The man of the decade... century perhaps. And darling, there is always some battle somewhere. Always," he said with a wink as he gave a chuckle. "I'm glad I'm not in their place," Sion said, laughing softly. "You'll scare them right out of the auror office, Damien."
Then again, if Damien did succeed in that, that meant the auror trainees did not come up to the standard required of them, in the first place. Like he had said, toughness is essential to being an auror. Students dreamed of and glorified it as a job full of fame and opportunities, but it was more than just a job. It was a responsibility. "Someone has a high opinion of himself." Her eyes had lit up, full of mischief. She couldn't say she blamed him. She had a pretty darn high of opinion of herself. It kept life on the right track. She'd have gone down long ago, like so many others, if she hadn't believed in herself. "Have you ever seen a tiger?" |
