Earlier, the proud seventh year had uncomfortably asked Brae for help with his Divination homework. It was one of the only, possibly the only, course that Deus struggled with, simply because his mind was always on other things. The Ravenclaw took pride in his studies but his mind always seemed to drift off while he was perched on top of a cushion in the warm Divination classroom, inhaling the incense and enchanting candles that seemed to be everlastingly lit.
As he walked on, his shined loafers squeaking against the freshly waxed, hardwood floor, he noticed a protuberance of what looked like an auburn-colored lion's mane behind a large pile of books, whose covers were adorned with rather mystical illustrations and most with the gold-embossed name of Cassandra Trelawney. He approached the table, only to find Braeden behind the mountainous pile of literature. "Good evening," The corners of his lips rose slightly to make a smile before he resumed his atypical apathetic expression, slinging his leather bag from his shoulders as he took a seat.
"Sorry if I'm a bit late," Amadeus murmured his apology as he began to shuffle around items in his satchel. "I was accosted by a friend in need of assistance and it was a bit of an emergency." He intently avoided eye contact as he lied through his teeth. Truth be told, he had caught his reflection in a mirror as he had changed in the Ravenclaw boys dormitory and didn't have the will to resist fussing with his hair. "Where should we start?" He asked, fishing a rather thick textbook from his bag before looking up at Braeden.
Braeden looked up from his book as a model walked out of a photoshoot and approached him. HUH?! He stared at the much taller boy wide-eyed before realizing - oh, it's Deus. Looking like a living Roman statue as always. Of course. He smiled politely at the boy as he sat down and went on about being late due to a friend who needed assistance. D'awwww. How sweet.
Too bad Braeden didn't buy it. He didn't know Deus as well as he knew Roderigo, but he had gotten enough of an idea of his personality to know that such kind acts were rare events and he had most likely been distracted with more self-centered manners. The cowardly lion with the messy hair wasn't about to question him on it, though. That was his business.
"Well, what exactly are you struggling with?" Braeden asked as Deus asked how they would start. "I've got books here that fall under the 'Divination for Dummies' category up to intermediate level," he said, gesturing with a hand at the mountain of books he had set upon the table.
