Not only is the number of cards established, but their meanings are pretty static. Past, present, future.” Which was why when she let them all go try to do readings, in a bit, she’d let them choose what spread they wanted to use. She had one last question for them, though, and she looked up again while running a finger delicately acroos the top of the deck of cards now on her desk. “The Celtic cross spread has one card that isn’t included in most other spreads, but can sometimes be considered one of the more important ones in a reading. That would be card number one, or the significator. Does anyone want to give me an answer as to what significance that card holds?”[/COLOR]
Eino raised his hand. "Professor, the significator indicates who are in the present right? That would, naturally, affect the outcome of our future." It made sense. The person you are will determine the choices you make, and those choices would lead to a certain future. "However, Divination
is the study of the future, so a present substance might not always be taken into consideration. By removing the significator one is able to read the future as, well, fate. Something that just happens, that it is destined to be. By including the significator the future would be subjective, and possibly change."
