As for everyone else.
"I know that some of the concepts are hard to get your mind around. But we'll begin now by opening our books to chapter five." He waited for the books to open and then continued.
"The twenty four runes of the Elder Futhark are listed here, along with a few magical and divinatory meanings associated with each one. The tables you are sitting at are each made of wood and I think are rather bare. So today we're going to choose runes to carve into the tables, based on the magical associations of each rune, and activate the magic of each one, hopefully to provide beneficial effects on your learning."
Yes. They'd be carving up the furniture.
"So take a look at the list. What kind of runes do you think would be good to carve into a desk that you do schoolwork on? What kind of effects would you think might be beneficial? Put your hand up if you can see one here, and do feel free to think outside the box, there is a lot of opportunity for that. You're welcome to say a rune someone else has said, but do try to share a different magical association to that rune as well as why you think it'd be
useful."
ooc: be creative, go ahead and say as many runes as you want, as long as your character can say why they think it'd be beneficial to be on a school desk/table.
Emmaleigh's little fingers itched to finally be able to look through the textbook on her desk. Turning to Chapter five, she carefully looked at the runes. She knew the runes to help with protection since they had studied that last year, but she didn't know anything about the ones that could help with homework. She ran her finger down the list as she read each of the magical uses. She ever she found one, she scribbled each one down. When she had finished, she raised her hand. "Professor, I would use
Uruz, for understanding the material,
Thurisaz for a study aid, and to help concentrate,
Dagaz, for a positive outcome, and
Fehu for good luch, and for a good pay off."
