Nominations for the 9th annual Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards were
announced today, where
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and the
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Fl, were recognised. Deathly Hallows: Part I received three nominations, in the Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual-Effects Driven Feature Motion Picture, and two separate nods in the Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey gained recognition in the Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project.

The 2011 Annual VES Awards will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Beverly Hills, CA. The ceremony's initial broadcast date on REELZCHANNEL will be Saturday, February 19, 2011, and continue to play on the network thereafter.
