I wanted my answer and I was entitled to get it," Jake insisted, wrenching his sunglasses off his face with his other hand, revealing his bloodshot eyes that he did not raise to meet Moretti's. He left the bit about Gevrik, mainly because he agreed. He would be talking to the man plenty.

"It's not that I need help with potions," Jake explained, holding up his hand and flexing his fingers. "I'm perfectly able... Good, even. I just wanted to show her what I could do... Have an intellectual conversation. But as it is now maybe I just should let myself fail. If I have this issue with professors I will never function in the normal world."
