Thanks for the comment Connie...here's the new post...hope you will like it...and well,i wasnt getting any good chapter name for it...so i just left it there...but if anyone has an idea what it should be called let me know...

SUBTERFUGE

Looking up from his file Shaun rubbed his eyes and placed his head in his hands trying to concentrate hard on the paper but failed every time and had a throbbing headache if he concentrated for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. His mind hardly registering what the tutor from the Auror department was trying say.
“Shaun, what’s wrong?” asked Rebecca.
Shaun looked up and merely shook his head. Harry looked up from his papers and saw Shaun looking slightly flustered.
As it was time for break the trainees collected their books and papers and walked out of the room leaving the two friends behind. Rebecca had a lunch date with her new boyfriend so she left, rather reluctantly.
“thinking about September 1st mate?” asked Harry sitting next to Shaun and thumping his back and Shaun just tried to ignore it and looked rather busy in gathering his things from his desk.
Harry observed Shaun and kept quiet and silently walked along with him to the Ministry canteen for lunch only to come face to face with
“Catherine, having a good day?” asked Harry making Shaun snapping his head in the direction where Catherine appeared.
“oh yeah, a bit busy but very good day” she said smiling
“how about you guys?” she asked smiling at Shaun and he just shrugged and smiled a small smile.
“you guys were heading for lunch, you can join me if you want” she said shrugging
“um…” Harry somehow couldn’t decide and he looked at Shaun who was ready with his answer
“um, no Cathe, I guess you go ahead with your friends” he said looking behind her head
“ah, don’t bother, we can get another table, if you want” she said off-handedly
“no, actually we both have some work things to discuss so” he said shrugging.
Catherine looked at him and then at Harry who looked at her for a second and then away.
“alright, no problem” she said smiling but she had feeling somewhere down that something was up.
“thanks” he said and came ahead and kissed her cheek “I’ll see you around” Shaun said and walked past her along with Harry who was slightly amused by his friend’s action walked along with him but didn’t say a word. ‘Maybe some other time’ he thought.
“um, Shaun?” Catherine called back and Shaun stopped to turn around and look
“can I have a word with you?” she asked “just a couple of minutes” she said looking at him with the eyes which were clearly apprehensive and slightly worried.
“yeah, yeah sure” he said and turned back to Harry who nodded and walked away to catch a table for both of them.

Walking in the corner of the Canteen, Catherine turned to take a good look at Shaun. Minutes passed by and Shaun looked at Catherine looking at him
“Cathe? What are you looking at?” he asked his hand on her shoulder trying to shake her out of some kind of revere.
“Looking at you” she said softly
“sorry?”
Shaking her head Catherine spoke
“Shaun, I have been watching you the last couple of weeks you are not the same easy going Shaun I had known for so many months” she said
“what’s going on? What are you thinking all the time?” she asked
“Come on, Cathe, its nothing. You know I get a bit serious sometimes, that’s it” he said shrugging trying not to give too much importance.
“Serious, yes, sometimes but not for weeks together, Shaun” she said her hand over his arm
“when was the last time that you saw yourself in mirror?” she asked her hands crossed across her chest and Shaun jerked his head to the side and cocking his eyebrows.
“answer, Shaun”
“today, morning, Catherine”
“and yet I feel you haven’t made out the change that your face shows” she said and Shaun looked at her and then away scanning through the canteen catching Harry’s eye who looked up and nodded and went back to reading the Prophet.
He sighed, and Catherine stepped ahead looking up at him
“what is it that is troubling you Shaun?” her eyes and voice earnest and sincere with worry.
“you know, you used to talk it out with your friends with any trouble you had” she said and Shaun nodded.
“you have Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and even Rebecca to talk to if you want. You used to talk to me too Shaun. And you only know how better you feel after you have talked things out then why is it troubling you whatever it is? Why haven’t you talked to anyone of them? why aren’t you talking to me about it?” she asked her eyes not leaving his face with every question she posed.
Shaun looked at her not knowing how to answer but just nodded and spoke
“I will talk to Harry and Ron. I swear” he said and taking her hand and giving it a slight squeeze he left.
