"It would be my pleasure" replied Claire giggling slightly as she peered over to a particularly cute black haired boy at the slytherin table.
"Besides Xavier wouldn't be too happy if you kissed a slytherin", she said thinking about her brother. He was in training to be an auror, he was also engaged to Emily. Though their engagement was arranged - the Black and Browne families were close- they had been in love since Emily first started Hogwarts.
Emily was first her friend and would soon be her sister.
"Well if huffelpuff have already lost 20 points then we shouldn't really need to worry about coming last this year", she said, though she knew it was foolish to state this so early in the term. Fingers crossed she wouldn't lose them any points.
"Mmmm, I'm sure he would be really pleased." replied Emily grinning.
"But no doubt I'm sure he wouldn't like you kissing a slytherin either". Emily laughed.
Xavier was a lot like his father, very proud, very stubborn and very flirtacious, but he was in love, and this also made him incredibly protective and the jealous type. Emily thought it was cute. He had threatened to arrest a drunk wizard at the leaky cauldron during the summer because he had advanced on her whilst Xavier was getting drinks.
Emily smiled. One more year and she would be able to spend the rest of her life with Xavier, she was hoping the wedding would take place at the end of the school year but they were going to have to delay it a few more months. Then she would finally be Mrs Emily Black. It seemed strange thinking about getting married whilst she was still at school.
"It is a promising start to the year isn't it. Not being equal last", she said.
