Mr. Descoteaux? "It's Jared," he corrected, out of habit. Nice, simple and informal. Though, of course, she could argue he'd been formal in his approach but, then, he had felt that would sound more polite. "Your subject is... divination?" He could be mistaken. Stranger things have happened, after all.
As she seemed to at least get a half-smile out of the Charms professor, Renée relaxed a little more. Creepy man-who-stole-Vindictus's-chair fleeing her mind for the time being, although she had a feeling he'd be back. Mentally, that is. She'd always had a knack for knowing if people would worm their way into her mind, even though it seemed that she'd never really gotten as adept at the flip side of her skills. That would have come in useful, but it didn't seem like Mr. Descoteaux was that dangerous. "I don't think very many people would," she replied, smiling again. At least, she never liked being mistaken about things. Luckily, she rarely was.

But at his correction, she grinned. "Well, if you put it that way, Jared, I'm Renée," she said, regarding him for a moment. It seemed like it might be interesting to talk to him. at least. He wouldn't shoot her down or anything, that she could tell. Something told her he knew her reasoning behind her previous way of addressing him, so there wasn't any need to keep that up. Especially as he'd gone on with the conversation. "Mmm-hmm," she answered, reaching for the water again. "At least, currently." Well, always, but it wasn't like she hadn't done anything else.
