So in theory, she did not like Sabel. In theory. And she also did not trust him. She should not trust him. Even if the dimples and the laughter were telling her to do otherwise.
McKensie set her jaw, because boys were still strange.
Especially the Veela ones.
But she would not let him think he was getting to her. NEVER! "I see. So you consider yourself impulsive and careless? Tsk, tsk." Greer allowed herself to look superior and to sport a beam for a moment, before regaining all seriousness, and looking for a way to match his clever answer with a clever one of his own.
She failed, for the most part. "Because asking is the only way of knowing." She shook her head, and made the curls tied with the ribbon, come out of the low ponytail. Dropping her voice so no one would hear, McKensie cupped her hands around her mouth and leaned in closer to him, "Because there are all sort of dangers out there. Half-goblins, kidnappers, and all that. I need proteeeeeeection. Security and safety is in numbers! Don't you know that?" How had he SURIVED this long? Smiling, Sabel let another shrug roll of his shoulders. "I consider myself that way and learning to improve, but one has to consider their faults in order to know who they are." His grin only widened at the girl's words about knowledge, a considering expression mixing with his smile. "Asking is one way of knowing. Experience is the other. Words can only tell you so much, and even then they can be falsified. Experiencing something for yourself, well, that is where we learn most of our truths."
Shaking his head a little, he let his hand drop and leaned forward, as if telling his own secret in response to hers. "Well Miss McKensie, I can assure you that whether you find purpose in trusting me or not, you have my protection. No cost, no charge, no favors asked. If you ever need help, I'm always around." Pulling back a little, he gave her a playful wink. "Closet trolls I'm not so good with though." Quote:

Oh, no she wasn’t good at holding speeches they always made her shake like a leaf. And besides she hadn’t exactly planned one either since nobody had instructed her to make one. Right, it was probably best to head for the Gryffindor table and see what was going on, the familiar long table where she had sat many feasts and enjoyed good company and food.
The brunette perched herself in a vacant seat in the middle of the table. That way she could see what was going on up and down the table. Several students where already seated around her but Sophie didn’t know if she should make the first move of interaction or not.
She was a Prefect! Sophie had her shiny badge on her robes and yet felt a bit lost. It was when he drew back, that he noticed another Gryffie nearing the table, and not just any Gryffie. One of the Prefects. And she looked stark terrified. Sparing a small smile to Greer, he turned slightly to offer a small wave to the girl, reaching for another glass. "Pumpkin juice?" After all, it did seem to be a form of peace offering this time around. Maybe Vindictus should try giving it to the cranky man in his seat; or at least spilling it in his lap so he would have to move.
