And then she got a little too close. He had tolerance, but this was enough.

"I'm very well aware of that. But, did you know, it is rude to ask someone a question and then not listen to them? If you don't want to hear it, don't ask." His eyes flicked to her wand with a disapproving frown. "And those can poke eyes out. I would be careful." Obviously no immediate danger, especially when she mentioned the rather absurd comment about him being part veela, which he wasn't sure if he should take as a compliment or not. So he settled for the middle ground of truth. "I'm muggleborn."
Greer was now tapping her cheeks with the tip of her wand for the sixth time, and for the sixth time she checked her reflection in the back of her clean spoon. Nothing. The only thing that stared back at her was plain old face, and the constellation of freckled on it.

When the boy's tone changed, to one that vaguely reminded her of Ian and Colby's whenever she sneaked inside their rooms (except her siblings' were ten times worse and louder and literally shoved her out of their rooms), Greer lowered her wand and adopted a amused, albeit sheepish expression. "Ooohhh." Deciding that the pimples were most likely a veela trait that could not be copied, Greer stuffed her wand back in the insides of her robes. "I was listening," Lies. Sort of. "I just didn't have a smart response that could match yours, so I pretended that I didn't and change the subject." Something she did often--on a daily basis, as a matter of fact.

When the boy announced that he was not a veela, and was in fact, a muggleborn, Greer thought her cheek thoughtfully. "My mum's a muggleborn, and she doesn't look like a veela like you." Charlotte McKensie, fairly good-looking as she was, did not have dimples. Or the boy's bone structure, for that matter. McKensie shrugged her small shoulders, and added. "Maybe you have veela or fey blood. Maybe a little." Or a lot. Was it even possible to have fey blood? She gave him a side-ways look.
