She was probably not going to get any candy after paying for this, but that was okay. Going without anything in her stomach for a few more hours wouldn't kill her.
It was as she laid the coins on the trolley that she noticed Salander not too far away, also looking at the Quibbler and appearing a little unsettled. Well that wasn't good. Was it the same thing that had bothered Kurumi, the Statute of Secrecy? Vashti bit her lip, a little bit worried now. Maybe there really was something strange going on here. But what was it? What was it about the Statute that was upsetting people? Quote:

I haven't seen them, and I've been around mistletoe, I mean, we all had, eventually, no?" because the Castle was always filled with that during Christmas time, and no, he didn't mean for mistletoe to the be the main issue here, but..., "I've never seen anything around mistletoe, seriously," unless boys and girls are Nargles gathered around mistletoe, but that was not the case, "Unless, they're like Thestrals, and that would explain why I can't see them," nor had he had any of belongings lost in the Common Room, perhaps it only happened to the ones staying up there on the Seventh Floor? So, Nargles don't like the grounds. And the Hufflepuff Common Room was by the Kitchens, therefore, no Nargles.
Pogrebins? "No, no, it says here that you can see them, though not as clearly as one could see an owl, for sure," sooooo, yeah, no Pogrebins. And she should think of less creepy creatures, by the way.
But, oh, she was probably thinking something was up, since his stance had changed and he was blocking her view of Salander. He wasn't falling for that. "I doubt it, Kurumi," but, really, was there a Nargle around?.
Kurumi noticed that Vashti seemed to be just as intrigued and confused about this particular issue of the Quibbler as she was. Perhaps she could pull her aside later and talk to her about methods of research.
Kurumi's thoughts of research and mystery calmed down when Treyen began listing off other magical creatures and almost forgot about her desire to take a peak behind him when... Quote:

He shifted around the trolley and made his way towards the others, walking directly behind Treyen-- who didnt seem to make any motions of turning to say hello. Or even acknowledge that he was around. What the hey? At least Vashti saw him. "Hey wazzup Vashti?" he nodded at the Ravenclaw girl, then shifted his eyes behind Treyen's head and back to her again Whats with him? he was trying to say silently. ...she heard Salander's voice and then saw him standing behind Treyen. From the way the atmosphere suddenly felt like someone had put a black cloak over everything or...that there was a herd of Pogrebins in the area. Did you call a group of Pogrebins a herd? Or was it a pride? A gang perhaps? Kurumi looked back and forth between the two and noted that they seemed to get along as well as a boggart did with a wizard.
" H-H-Hi Salander," she waved cautiously. Treyen's blinding smile seemed to have fizzled out at the moment.
