The young man chuckled slightly, his bad mood lifting slightly. "It's alright." In his way? "Yeah," Jake replied honestly. "But I was looking for people I knew that I could talk to... so I think that kind of cancels it out."
Totally.

Oh, good! Jake hadn't been too upset...or hadn't been upset at all, actually...about Sierra nearly forgetting his name. He seemed like a pretty easygoing guy. She'd asked her sister, Anna, about him, and Anna had described him completely different from how Sierra knew him to be. Anna had said he'd been really hyper back when she was in school, but so far, Jake actually seemed really
serious to Sierra. It was almost like the two sisters were meeting completely different person. Hmm...odd. She shrugged off the thought and returned her attention to the conversation.
Sierra laughed at his reply to her. At least he was honest, but in a nice sort of way, of course. She still kept out of way, though, just in case someone else who
wasn't looking for someone to talk to came along.
"So how's your potions coming along?" she asked Jake, remembering how he'd been collecting ingredients for something he was experimenting with.
"Find that perfect brew for invisibility yet?" Hadn't they discussed something about invisibility and visibility potions? She remembered something like that.
Turning to Arabella, Sierra nodded a few times. So she
had been right about the girl. She wasn't too much older than Sierra--only by a year.
"Oh, second year. So you've been to Hogwarts before. What house are you in?" she asked. That was usually one of the first questions Sierra asked a person upon meeting them for the first time.
