Beth grabbed Star and put her back on her lap just before the kitten managed to pounce onto Emily. "Yeah I have read some of the books, I mean I was trying to learn at east a little bit before I came but I didn't know what half of it was talking about to be honest." She laughed at this point and scratched Star behind her ear.
"Yeah she should be ok as long as I don't get too close for too long." Emily smiled as Beth talked.
"Yeah, but don't worry, you're not the only muggle-born at school, so don't let it worry you. I love to read and I've tried to memorize as many spells as possible! My sister gave me a lot of her old books, so i'm like 3 years ahead!" Emily laughed then went to open her trunk.
"Want a sugar quill? I've got two, they're my FAVOURITE wizarding treat!" she said throwing the quill to Beth then ripping the wrapper off her own.
