Melanie tore her eyes away from the window she heard the knocking, a little startled by the noise. Before she could answer, someone entered the compartment. The girl looked familiar, and about her age too, but Melanie was pretty sure she'd never spoken to her. "Yeah, sure, the more the merrier." she replied cheerfully, with a little nod. After all, it would be a fairly boring train ride if she went the entire time without company.

She might as well introduce herself. "I'm Melanie Lockhart. You can call me Melanie.. or pretty much any other variation of it." Same old routine. "What's your name?" she asked curiously, returning her smile.
