Claire walked to the back of the train, figuring that if it was anything like a bus, the back would be the most fun.

She went to an empty compartment. She didn't want to have to ask anyone if she could sit. She would wait and see if anyone else wanted to ask her. She would say yes to everyone until the compartment was full, if anyone asked at all, but she didn't have enough guts to knock on the door of a compartment containing anyone older than her.
